Few things are more frustrating than making an urgent phone call only to be met by an answering machine or voicemail.
While NUW Organisers do everything in their power to be on hand for members every time they are needed, sometimes it is just not possible to keep up with demand.
Which is why the NUW is thrilled to announce the launch today (October 2, 2007) of a fantastic new service for members – NUW Assist.
Now all you will need is just need one simple phone number – 1300 275 689 – to access instant and expert advice about issues at your workplace.
NUW Assist is a phone-based service, staffed by NUW Officials ready to provide you with first-class advice and assistance.
The service does not replace your site Organiser or Delegate; to the contrary, it enhances the assistance you can receive from the entire union.
As always we encourage you to talk to your Delegate about any issues you have at work, but if you do not know who they are, they are unavailable, or they cannot answer your query, NUW Assist is here to help you.
The NUW Officials on the end of the phone have access to your site Agreement and can answer any questions you have about your workplace including all your wages, conditions and entitlements, or your union in general.
Your union is just a phone call away. NUW Assist will provide you with instant access to NUW Officials to help you.
And if they can’t answer your query straight away, they will take your details and return your call as soon as they have the information you require.
They will keep your site Organiser informed, via email, about any issues which are happening at your worksite and what they can do to help you.
NUW Assist will run from 7am to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 5pm on Friday (Eastern Standard/Daylight Saving Time).
The service is headed up by National Senior Industrial Officer Paul Richardson who has nearly 20 years experience with the NUW, with Officials Justin Cartwright, Anthony Grimshaw, Bertrande Meyer, Gary Stutz and Michael Warren completing the NUW Assist team.
