23 concerned constituents of Bass held a silent protest on Monday against the Howard Government's WorkChoices legislation

The Your Rights at Work campaign continued in earnest in the Tasmanian marginal seat of Bass on Monday (November 5, 2007), with local activists holding a silent, but telling protest against the Howard Government’s WorkChoices laws.
The group of 23 protestors represented the 23 times Liberal MP Michael Ferguson voted in favour of the WorkChoices legislation, or the 23 times he voted to strip working families of their basic rights and conditions at work.
The protestors came from all walks of life and included children in prams who will bear the full brunt of these unfair laws if the Howard Government remains in power, grandparents who were concerned about their children and grandchildren, and worried workers who have seen the job security of their friends and family slashed in the past 18 months.
This is just one of many YRAW activities in the northern Tasmanian seat of Bass.
