National Union of Workers

National Day of Protest, November 30 2006

Wednesday December 13, 2006

For the fourth time in 18 months, thousands of union members, their families, as well as other members of the community joined together on November 30 to voice their opposition to the Howard Government's radical IR laws.

Rallies were held in hundreds of locations across Australia, with a video presentation of the rally in Melbourne beamed live throughout the country.

The campaign against the Federal Government's IR laws will continue until a new set of laws are introduced that will protect, rather than attack, working people and their families.

As a result, the November 30 Rally saw the ACTU highlight that your rights at work are not only worth fighting for, but are also worth voting for.

Below are some of the highlights from the rally in Melbourne, held at the people's ground, the MCG.
