NUW throws support behind Asthma fundraiser

Wednesday April 13, 2005

NUW member Mark Griffin knows all too well the difficulties associated with childhood asthma.

Mark has two children with the disease and has experienced first-hand the distress of watching one of your loved ones struggle for breath.

Which is why he has thrown himself into a major fundraising effort for the NSW Asthma Foundation.

Mark has raised funds for the Foundation for several years, and recently took on the challenge of running from Forster on the NSW North Coast to Mingara on the Central Coast, all in the name of fundraising.

The NUW got right behind his run, as major sponsor, and also helped to promote his efforts along the way, to assist him to raise several thousand dollars over the three days.

It has a huge effort to run the 130 plus kilometres, but rather than rest up and ice his aching muscles, Mark is already planning his next run in 2006.

This time he is looking at running from NSW to Northern Queensland.

Congratulations Mark on a fantastic effort. The NUW is proud to have been involved in your fundraiser and wishes you well with your future runs.
