Serco Sodexho AWAs won't be accepted
Friday November 24, 2006
Australian Defence Company Serco Sodexho Defence Services has offered numerous amounts of AWAs to workers such as storemen to cleaners. The NUW alongside the LHMU rallied Friday November 10, 2006 to show SSDS just how "unjust" these AWA/Individual Contracts are.
Workers and unions rallied outside of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Friday November 10, 2006 while a black tie Defence dinner took place to show SSDS just how much of a collective we are.
SSDS has been offering AWAs to workers such as cleaners and storeman and packers, who have already made it clear to the company they want a Collective Agreement to ensure EVERY worker is protected.
The event held great significance showing Australian Defence companies that AWAs are NOT an option for Australian workers.
