OHS&W Organiser position vacant in SA

The South Australian Branch is looking for a OHS&W Organiser/ Project Officer to identify, promote and develop a trained network of Health and Safety representatives within targeted industries in the state.

Position Overview

Title of Office                  OHS&W Organiser/Project Officer

 

Responsible to                Branch Secretary

 

Salary                                Starting salary will be negotiated between $44,769 and $49,744, depending on skills and experience.  A car is provided plus attractive superannuation benefits.

 

Job Description               The role of the OHS&W Organiser is to identify, promote and develop a trained network of Health and Safety representatives within targeted industries in South Australia.

                                                                                         The Organiser position is for a fixed term (until June 30, 2010) and is jointly funded by the NUW and the State Government.

Experience & Qualifications

 

­­­­­­­­­­Essential:

·                     Commitment to Trade Union movement and basic knowledge of relevant OHS&W legislation

·                     Demonstrated experience of modern organising theory and techniques

·                     Ability to identify and develop leaders, facilitate worker meetings and work to plans

·                     Ability to motivate and educate Union members

·                     Knowledge of the Australian industrial scene

·                     Able to demonstrate initiative

·                     Time management skills and able to work to deadlines

·                     Drivers' licence

·                     Basic computer skills  (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet)
