Burrow in Launceston for community meeting
Thursday February 22, 2007
ACTU President Sharan Burrow will be the guest of honour at a special community meeting at the LGH Lecture Theatre in Launceston on Thursday March 1, 2007.
With the first anniversary of the introduction of the Howard Government’s radical Industrial Relations laws coming up at the end of March, Burrow is well positioned to discuss the true impact of the legislation and the pain it has caused ordinary Australian working families.
The meeting is a perfect opportunity for concerned community members to voice their support for the ACTU’s Your Rights at Work campaign, and to ask Burrow questions about the peak body’s plans for 2007 leading up to this year’s Federal Election.
Burrow’s visit to Launceston is indeed part of the ACTU’s marginal seat campaign for the seat of Bass, just one crucial element of the Your Rights at Work program.
The community meeting starts at 5.30pm and light refreshments are available.
