Chemical handling workshop coming soon

Employees, employers, WorkSafe officers and occupational health and safety consultants are all invited to attend a chemical handling training procedures workshop on September 4, 2006.
The workshop is part of the Safe Handling of Chemicals in the Automotive Industry (SHOCAi) Project.
The SHOCAi Project is a joint initiative of unions, employer groups, the Victorian State Government, the Plastic and Chemicals Industries Association, and WorkSafe Victoria.
The aim of the workshop is to develop a best practice model training procedure for handling chemical substances.
The workshop will discuss employee inductions, work areas, contractor inductions, training needs analysis, trainer qualifications, and the development of training packages.
The workshop will be facilitated by Christy Fejer, an occupational health and safety consultant.
The workshop is free, and lunch will be provided. However, registration prior to August 28 is essential. Registrations are limited to just 100 spots.

The Training Procedures workshop will run from 8.30am to 3.30pm on September 4, 2006 at the Western Bulldogs Social Venue; Whitten Oval, 412 Barkly Street Footscray West.
