The union movement's campaign against the Howard Government's radical IR laws moved to the Federal seat of La Trobe last month.
The Your Rights at Work team in La Trobe set up a stall at the Berwick Show on February 24 and 25 to provide information to the local community about the negative effects of the Howard Government's IR laws.
La Trobe is held by Liberal MP Jason Wood, and is one of 24 marginal seats being targeted by the Your Rights at Work campaign.
The campaign is focused on changing the sitting members in these seats in an effort to have a set of fair work laws introduced by a new Federal Government.
The Your Rights at Work stall was one of the most popular attractions at the show, with organisers receiving over 1000 letters and signatures of support.
The NUW had a very strong presence at the show with Delegates at Linfox Adidas Jeff Stephanitsch and Brendon Henry both speaking with workers about the Federal Government's IR laws.
Jeff is also assisting the Your Rights at Work campaign in La Trobe as the Berwick area contact.
There are many other members from other unions involved in the La Trobe camapign, and special thanks go to the many volunteers who also attended the Berwick Show to make it such an informative event for the local community.
