With just a few weeks to go until the Federal Election, it is time for NUW members living near Berwick to get behind the Your Rights at Work Campaign.
Berwick is situated in the Federal seat of La Trobe. The seat is one of the most marginal in Victoria. It is currently held by Liberal Party member Jason Wood by just over 5 per cent.
Marginal seats like La Trobe must change hands if working people want a better set of IR laws than the Howard Government's WorkChoices laws.
Studies have shown the Federal Government's Individual Contracts leave workers more than $100 a week worse off than workers on Collective Agreements.
The only way to ensure your working rights and those of your children aren't taken away for good is to vote for a new set of IR laws from a new Federal Government.
The highly successful Your Rights at Work Campaign has set up in the seat of La Trobe to talk with working people and their families about the impact of the Howard Government's radical IR laws.
