National Day of Protest, June 28 2006

Around 150, 000 union and concerned community members flooded the centre of Melbourne on June 28 for the third National Day of Protest against the Howard Government's unfair IR laws.
The Melbourne protest was just one of many rallies held throughout Australia, and follows similar events held last year in June and November.
NUW members led the march from outside Southern Cross Station. After marching down Bourke Street, they eventually met up with other protestors in Bourke Street Mall.
NUW members stood out from the crowd by wearing bright red t-shirts.
