NUW Supporting Research and call centre Members
The National Union of Workers is the voice of research and call centre employees across Australia. Through this website, you’ll have access to the latest information about your industry rights at your fingertips. This website is just a small part of the wider goal of the NUW – which is to help you to improve your wages and conditions; no matter where you work or who you work for.
You might work in a phone room, in the field, or in other areas researching and collecting information; whatever you do, the NUW is here to assist you.
The NUW can help you with a variety of workplace issues including pay rates, cancellation of shifts, Occupational Health and Safety, break times, strike rates, job security, as well as any other issue you, or anyone else at your workplace, may need assistance with.
However, our ability to solve workplace issues depends on our strength at the workplace, which comes directly from workers like you. The more NUW members there are at each Research and Call Centre sites and across the industry, the more power you have to win the rights you deserve.
NUW members control and direct the union’s activity. An important principle of unionism is democracy. The NUW firmly believes its members should make decisions for themselves about their wages and conditions. The NUW exists to help you develop your workplace and how you want it to look, rather than telling you how it should look.
Thanks to workers like you, we are achieving our aim of improved wages and conditions for market research workers across the Industry. More Research and Call Centre employees now belong to the NUW than ever before.
Research and Call Centre workers who join the NUW become part of a young and dynamic organisation committed to advancing the rights of workers. Our Research and Call Centre members are also strong and independent; organising themselves at work for their own benefit.
To ensure this improvement continues, members need to become active.
Active union members are the reason the NUW has achieved a union Collective Agreement which sets out the wages and conditions for employees who work in the majority of Research and Call Centre companies. Click here for list of Research and Call Centre companies.
