Better pay and conditions at Ingham's Bolivar after members vote

A new agreement for members at Inghams' Bolivar, with improved pay and conditions, has recently been proposed after discussions between the union and management.

A new agreement for Ingham’s Bolivar has been proposed after members showed support and threatened possible protected industrial action. Management and the Union were able to reach agreement on a number of Key points that lead to the Union ceasing a protected action ballot.

Membership meetings held last week endorsed the new agreement in principle.

Some of the changes included in the new proposed agreement are:

  • 14% wage increase
  • Increase in tea money
  • Increase in first aid allowance
  • Better guidelines around the requirement to work on public holidays
  • The introduction of a shift loading for work performed between 6pm and 9pm
  • An increase of 1% per year for three years in the casual loading

These improved conditions are a result of members’ dedication and involvement to lobby for better pay.

The Union is now working with the company to finalise the wording of the agreement which will then be presented to all employees for a formal ballot.
