Members rattle the cage for better working conditions at Avery Dennison

Members at Avery Dennison

Members working at sticker manufacturer Avery Dennison in South Australia are sticking together after EBA negotiations with the company broke down.

From 6am today, members at the site in South Australia will stop work for 24-hours in opposition to a series of poor offers put on the table by the company in the bargaining process, which has been ongoing since June this year.

The company is trying to remove a nine-day fortnight and although they have increased their initial wage offer from 1.5% per year [after members had a 97.5% yes vote for protected action] to 2.6% per year, members are unhappy with the decision hoping for an increase of 6% per year.

Site Organiser Liz Pierce maintained members were determined and committed to achieving their desired outcome.

“Members will continue with their campaign of rolling stoppages until the company negotiates in good faith.”
