Members still strong at Sigma picket despite bad weather

NUW members are continuing to protest unfair redundancies and conditions at Herron in Tennyson, with several dozen people taking action there this morning on the early shift. Members rounded up their family and friends this morning with one member receiving a visit from her daughter who had flown in from Darwin with her baby. Placards were held high outlining favoured and fair conditions by employees.

National Industrial Officer Adam Portelli, currently on site, spoke with members and lamented their concern at the company's unwillingness to talk, however, explained that workers' determination to achieve results remained strong.

"Despite the bad weather, members' spirits have been lifted thanks to the support offered by well-wishers and passers by."
