On the 8 December, the NUW held a forum for employers, NUW delegates and health and safety representatives as part of its WorkSafe-funded Return to Work Project.
The project aimed to address challenges for injured workers surrounding their rehabilitation, return to work process and job security. The forum focused on building a more cooperative relationship between workers and employers.
Issues addressed in the forum were representative of answers to a survey which the NUW conducted and which collated responses from injured workers about their experiences regarding their return to work after injury.
The RTW Forum was a vital step in improving the return to work process and the dialogue between employers and injured workers. The NUW is committed to building on these outcomes to better serve its members and assist injured workers.
