Sherrin Football Competition Winners
Assistant Vic Branch Secretary Esmond Curnow and Janine Hodge draw the winning entries in the competition to win Sherrin footballs
In the recent edition of the NUW Newsletter a competition to win 12 full size Sherrin footballs drew a huge response.
Hundreds of members from across the state enthusiastically responded to the chance to win one of the 12 footballs by correctly answering the competition question.
Question: “What is the new motto of the National Union of Workers”
Answer: “Unity is Strength”

Thanks to those that entered. And just to finish on an historical note, we have recently discovered that our “new” motto was in fact the motto of the Federated Storeman and Packers Union in the 1920s. The Storeman and Packers was one of the foundation unions of the NUW in 1988. As they always say “History has a strange way of repeating itself”.
