Members celebrate a great result
Members at Corex ended their industrial action last night after days on the picket line in cold, windy and wet conditions.
Employees were very happy with the end result which saw the company put an improved wage offer on the table which came into effect today, instead of the company’s initial offer for the wage increase to be effective as of 1st January 2011.
Members also maintained protections of redundancy provisions and were able to keep current conditions of their agreement. There was an increase in superannuation of 1 % in the first year.
Site Organiser Heath Lamaro said “members have been fantastic throughout the dispute, showing immense support for each other and demonstrating a great sense of unity through the seven days.”
During difficult weather conditions – all four seasons were covered – members were able to demonstrate unity is strength and celebrate a great result.
