The NUW is looking for a part-time committed social justice advocate to become an Organiser based in Brisbane, Qld.

- Organise workers in the Union and conduct campaigns to represent their interests at their workplaces
- Negotiate with employers on behalf of members.

The National Union of Workers is currently fighting to organise thousands of low-paid workers in logistics and warehousing, factories, call centres, food and plastics manufacturing and much more.

ORGANISER INTERN/FULL TIME - Melbourne, Docklands
SELECTION CRITERIA

JOB DESCRIPTION
The NUW is curently leading the fight to organise thousands of low-paid workers in logistics and warehousing, factories, call centres, food and plastics manufacturing and much more.
The NUW is looking for vactional interns to gain experience across three departments within the NUW.
(1) External Organising - assisting External Organisers to join new members, and organise them to gain power at work.
(2) Legal Department - assist NUW Legal Officers with the legal aspects of Agreement-making, and enforcing the rights of our members.
(3) Membership Service Centre - assist NUW Membership Service Officers advise our members and resolve their issues.
The internship will run for one month in February 2011.
SALARY
Renumeration/Pay rate: $22.42 per hour
