Market & Social Research Campaign 2010

The market & social research agreement is set to expire this year, so now is the opportunity to campaign for better wages and conditions.

2010 EBA. Your Pay. Your Call

Market & Social Research Campaign 2010

The Market & Social Research EBA is set to expire this year. To help you to fight for better wages and conditions, it is important to fill out a log of claims which will be presented to AMSRO, the employer body. Together, the Union and AMSRO will review the claims in order to negotiate a better Agreement for you.  This is your chance to tell us how we can help to improve your working conditions. The more people who join this fight, the more chances we have of improving your rights.

Over the last ten years, the NUW has helped to secure the wages and conditions that you currently enjoy through championing the cause for:

  • Better breaks
  • Reduction in the amount of time spent on 'training rates'
  • Better pay

Campaign Update

As part of the Your Pay, Your Call campaign we surveyed you, our members, to determine the issues and causes you wanted to see presented for the EBA negotiating period. Through the responses, the following issues have been logged.

  • 5 minutes of paid break time per hour
  • A commitment to employee development and career progression (this includes consistent and professional industry training and a clear classification structure)
  • An additional loading for weekend and late night work

First-round EBA bargaining update

NUW Delegates and Organisers met with AMSRO representatives on Thursday 26 August 2010, at the NUW Offices in Melbourne for the first Market & Social Research Industry bargaining meeting.

At the meeting NUW rank-and-file delegates presented each point of the claim and its importance to members. The claims as a whole are based on extensive feedback that members around the industry nationally gave to their delegates and Organisers. Taken together the claims represent a positive vision for productive and secure workplaces through better rostering, a fairer and clearer breaks system, and training opportunities for workers to protect the integrity of market research work and provide career opportunities.

AMSRO representatives also presented their claims. The NUW is currently seeking the feedback of membership about the AMSRO claims. If you have any queries, questions or concerns about the AMSRO claims then please talk to your workplace delegate first.
