Perth Pfizer Campaign Proving a Success

WA Pfizer Members

Pfizer's Perth EBA expires on 30 June 2010 and Pfizer workers are starting to realise that there is strength in unity.

The campaign, which was launched at the beginning of May, is proving to be a success, with more than 30 workers joining since its launch.

"Currently, Pfizer members feel their workload has been increased with no more staff to compensate for this."

WA Lead Organiser Alex Falconer admits "there is a groundswell of dissatisfaction and workers want to see improvements in the new EBA."

"Currently, Pfizer members feel their workload has been increased with no more staff to compensate for this. People feel that they are doing more work with less staff, and that they aren't being rewarded for it."

Alex maintains another issue in the lead-up to the EBA's expiration, which members are seeking to have resolved, is the company's reluctance to pay workers penalty rates for working public holidays.

"Another big issue is the requirement for rotating shift workers to work 5 public holidays without penalty," Alex said. "We are trying to change that."
