West Australian Growth Campaign
After years of languishing under the control of another union, NUW members in WA are now back in control and seeing real growth. As a result of this the NUW is looking for more WA Organisers to ensure we maintain a high level of service to our existing members and can continue to grow our union.
Interviews will be taking place very soon and while NUW delegates are particularly encouraged to apply, the positions are open to anyone with great communication skills and a passionate committment to workers' rights. If you are interested call 1300 275 689 or email nuwjobs@nuw.org.au.
There are lots of ways to get involved in WA's growth campaign; you could be a contact for the Union at your workplace, learn more about health and safety, find out about your workplace rights, and find out how your workplace can gain an agreement to improve wages and conditions.
You could be an activist or site delegate - these people are the lifeblood of the NUW; they provide the Union with direct knowledge about workplaces and make sure we have direct communication with workers.
NUW activists and delegates have the support of Organisers, Legal Officers and 60,000 other NUW members.
NUW WA Organiser Alex Falconer has said, "the members are fantastic and we have real opportunites within the state, 2010 will be a great year for the union in WA".
