2008 Log of Claims

The NUW has formulated its claims to be included in an extension of the 2005-2008 Market Research Industry Agreement. The log of claims is the culmination of a democratic process whereby thousands of NUW members nationally had a say about what we would like to change in the workplace. Overall there was a resounding need for wages to increase annually, better break times, greater security with regards to the allocation of shifts, and a higher level of health and safety in the workplace.
Furthermore, AMSRO, the market & social research employer association, has also released its claims. The claims include:
- Linking 10 per cent of our current pay to "performance incentives"
- Increasing the number of training hours from the current 50 hours to 76 hours
- Rolling back penalty rates
- Rolling back the rights of casuals to convert to permanent or ongoing quarterly employees
- Liminting practical coverage of the Agreement to field employees only
- Reducing redundacy entitlements for casuals
