Market Research employees may have their working hours cut under new proposals from the Federal Government’s communications watchdog.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is looking into changes that would stop Market Research employees from calling homes on Sunday.
The ACMA has asked for public submissions relating to the changes from affected parties, meaning enough public pressure could see the proposals change.
The NUW will make a submission supporting the valuable research its members do and requesting that current call times be retained.
However, separate submissions from employees in the Industry could help protect your working hours and take-home pay.
You can make a submission to the ACMA supporting the current calling hours by emailing donotcalltaskforce@acma.gov.au.
To help with this, the NUW has sent Market Research employees an email with a ready-made submission attached. All you need do is place your name and details at the bottom and send it to the ACMA. Democratic participation has never been so easy.
But you’ll need to hurry; submissions close on May 21, 2007.
