Coles members in QLD and NSW unite
NUW WOOLWORTHS AND COLES MEMBERS IN INDUSTRY WIDE CAMPAIGN
NUW members from Queensland and New South Wales have pledged to support each other and other NUW members in the Retail Warehousing industry in campaigns for better conditions and safer workplaces.
Members and activists met at the Logan Brothers Football Club in south Brisbane this Saturday for an NUW Training Day and agreed to set up a Retail Warehousing Organising Committee of delegates and members in the industry.
The organising committee will support workers in the industry in their fight for secure and safe jobs with good conditions.
Those at the Training Day heard from newly elected NUW Coles delegate, Ara Frandi, who told members that apathy was our biggest enemy. He said the only way to fight apathy was for workers at Coles, Woolworths and other Retail Warehouses across Queensland to organise and fight for a fair go together.
Members were joined at the Training Day by NUW officials from Queensland and Victoria, showing that NUW solidarity extends across the country.
The NUW welcomes all those workers who became NUW members on Saturday – Unity is Strength!
