Today, right across Australia, thousands of people are standing together to acknowledge both the historic and ongoing injustices of persecution, discrimination and racial violence inflicted on Australia's First Nations People.
The NUW recognises that the battles we fight today take place on land that was stolen and never ceded. Australia was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
The union movement is built on our shared struggle for workers' rights and social justice for all. While we celebrate the diversity and cultures of our country every day, we commit to standing with the generations of First Peoples who are still fighting prejudice and violence, and who rightly demand justice and recognition for their people.
This ongoing fight for justice is, and always will be, union business.
