Joel has been a hardworking employee of Swire in South Australia and recently sacked because after being diagnosed with cancer, he had to take "unplanned leave". Joel also took leave after sustaining a workplace injury this year, before his termination. This is unfair!
Not only is it awful to target sick workers in this way, but the company have not been following their own disciplinary procedures in the site EBA.
We will fight for Joel to get his job back, this is cruel and unfair treatment from Swire.
